This tee features Frank Poole (one of the astronauts) as he slowly drifted into his death into space which was caused by HAL making him believe that the AE-35 unit (device used to maintain communications with ground personnel on Earth) which was installed on the antenna outside the spacecraft was malfunctioning and he had to go out and replace it. When he alighted the spacecraft, HAL rammed an EVA pod towards him which caused both him and the pod to lose control and eventually lead to his death.

2001: Space Odyssey

An imposing black structure (Jovian Monolith) provides a connection between the past and the future in this film directed by Stanley Kubrick which was an adaptation of a short story written by sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke.

It centers on Dr. Dave Bowman and other astronauts who are sent on a mysterious mission to Jupiter on the Discovery One (name of their spacecraft). Their ship's computer system, HAL, begins to display increasingly strange behavior, leading up to a tense showdown between man and machine that results in a mind-bending trek through space and time.

Stanley Kubrick was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is frequently cited as one of the most influential filmmakers in cinematic history. His films, which are mostly adaptations of novels or short stories, cover a wide range of genres, and are noted for their realism, dark humor, unique cinematography, extensive set designs, and evocative use of music.
