Lifestyle brand sponsors skateboarding event and dance competition in line with its Cebu launch.
New Era®, a global lifestyle brand which is the official headwear of some of the most prestigious sporting organizations like the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, and the National Football League, has launched its second store in the Queen City of the South at Ayala Center Cebu last June 24.
"Cebu is one of the most exciting destinations in the country today. With its unique history, heritage, and culture, we saw that the Queen City of the South is the perfect location for New Era® to expand as it reaches out to more Filipinos. Aside from this, we are greatly encouraged by the reception of Cebuanos to our brand, thus we're giving them a second store that they can visit," Beatrice S. Lim, New Era® Philippines Marketing Director said.
And just in time for the opening of their ninth branch in the country, several activities were prepared. Starting with the Cebu leg of the International Go Skateboarding Day last June 21, an event where thousands of skateboarders from cities all over the globe got together to promote skateboarding. This year, hundreds of Cebuano skateboarders went around Cebu raising their New Era flags.
Coinciding with the opening of New Era® Ayala Center Cebu branch was the final round of the New Era Dance Crew which was held at the said mall. Three teams—The Exporterz, Synergy, and Don Juan— battled each other on the dance floor. After showing their moves, Don Juan was named the Grand Champion of the said competition and they took home Php50,000.00. The three finalists were each given New Era Caps, gift certificates, and loot bags.
"We have always been proud in contributing to various activities that espouse the identity of New Era, we know that with these activities and the opening of our newest branch, we can continue to power more people to pursue their passion and fly their own flags," Lim said.
