SHIFT IN STYLE
I am Burt Erive, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Sales & Operations of New Era Philippines.
My love for headwear ignited even more at New Era Philippines. From the usual dad hats, I have moved to wearing Trucker & a more trendy Skully. However, my go-to cap would always be a minimalist 9FORTY with a New Era embroidery.
My favorite would be the 9FORTY Trucker & 9TWENTY from the limited edition collaboration, Takashi Murakami. I resonated with the minimalist design of it - pretty much reflects my personality.
I am a very basic person yet everyone knows that I have that quirk. A black tee, trousers, and sneakers guy. I like it simple, thus putting on a cap definitely adds that extra kick of personality. It levels up the look, even with a simple fit.
New Era Philippines is handled by Authentic Caps, and opened its first store at SM Megamall in 2015, and has expanded to more stores nationwide.
From the Store Construction, I have been very hands-on. I would monitor the construction regularly, work with long hours of set-up, just to make sure that during opening the store would be at its finest, alongside working with the Architect and Visual Merchandise Team.
Aside from that, one of the initial projects I had then was to improve the quality of the sales team. I had to do a lot of training modules for store managers & sales teams as well. All directed and leading to delivering excellent customer service. Basically, making sure that the sales team is equipped and skilled in presenting and representing the brand. I also had to look into the recruitment process at the time, making sure that everyone who joins the brand has the DNA of the brand.
Handling a brand that lives for over a century, New Era stays true to its core values: Authenticity, Individuality, Collaboration and Pride.
New Era Philippines has presented a diverse personality of store team members. from a dapper looking to a grunge or classic streetwear, a whole lot of personality vibes in the store team.
Thus prior to doing all these, I had to immerse myself, understand the brand. I would like to think that I am someone who leads by example.
